have to share a historic moment of Bonk; the opportunity to perform the Bonk show at the Univ of Notre Dame. Yup, the Fighting Irish, and fight each other they did for the Bonk Show grand champion. Performing in the historic theater was a dream as was the stage crew and tech team we had there. Thanks Irish!

The Bonk Comedy Game Show hits Colorado!

With two stops in CO; one for a national bank kicking off it's year and awarding their top team members with honors and the other for a high school group doing a fundraiser for the Invisible Children foundation (What a great charity) the BONK comedy game show left a mark.

The bank group was simply outstanding. I love seeing people in tuxedos and evening gowns donning the helmets for a classy round of.....BONK! Yeah - for real! They didn't quite know what to expect as the comedy game show kicked off the evening, but they immediately were into it! Yells and screams from the crowd kept coming as one by one they Get Bonked to finally award Sandy the Bonk Show Grand Champion of the night. Well done Sandy and by the way - You Looked Marvelous!

The High School Group was great as well. I was thankful to Carolyn and Zoe for helping to arrange that and we were happy to donate the BONK show to such a great cause. They had students from all kinds of organizations out to support the show and pay a small fee to get in the door. 100% of which was donated to the invisible children foundation.

And the fact that I got to ski a couple of days - well that wasn't bad either. Hope to have The BONK show back in Colorado soon - at least before ski season is over.

The Corporate Game Show - BONK - makes its way to Warm and Cozy Iowa

It was a true treat to bring the Bonk Game Show back to Iowa again and a very special thank you to everyone at Homesteaders Life Insurance in Des Moines Iowa. While I am kidding at the warm and cozy (the high temp was -5 degrees) I'm not kidding about warm and cozy hospitality. Everyone from Homesteaders was simply wonderful. Even the CEO was totally into the acts and causing havoc on the stage in round 1, but regretfully was beat by the other contestants.

It was also fitting that Katie went home as the Bonk Show Grand Champion! She helped get people involved in the show and coincidentally also found herself on stage in the first round. With a come from behind win in the final bonk bash in the end, she was able to wear the classic disco ball helmet and matching jacket and welcome all the audience on the dance floor at the end of the show.

Great College Campus Game Show at SIT

That would be Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken NJ and WOW what a campus. A view right across the Hudson River to the Manhattan skyline. Not cheap real estate I would imagine.

Hoboken is also home to the not famous Carlo's bakery of the TLC Television show fame "Cake Boss." I stopped in (got in a long line) and had a Canoli. Even added some questions to the Bonk game that night that related to the downtown area of Hoboken as it's always a perk to personalize the game for each campus or corporate client.

We had an AWESOME and vibrant crowd that night as well. But why not, they were playing for a Wii Game System or worst case was external hard drives and NetFlix subscriptions.

Thank you to Robyn and the Entertainment Committee at Stevens Institute of Technology for the wonderful hospitality. Hope to see you all again at the school or another NACA convention.

Sunny Delight Beverage Company stars in The BONK Game Show

While looking to provide a day of celebration and education for a 45th anniversary of an organization, Sunny Delight Beverage Company turned to the Corporate Comedy Game Show - The Bonk Show! It was 45 minutes of non-stop excitement as the first round featured the CEO, Chief Sustainability Officer and Marketing officer as well. These three were competitive, but the CEO took round number one as the winner.

Round two and three were equally as competitive as The Bonk Show kept the trick questions coming along with product questions, history questions about the company and even some fun personal questions about long time employees. The Bonk Comedy Game Show was a big hit.

In the Final Bonk Bash Round it paired up the fast thinking, "don't fall for any trick question" CEO up against the other two winners from round two and three. In the end, no surprise here, the CEO of the Sunny Delight went home the grand prize winner and become the Bonk Show grand champion.

A crowd of 30,000 Get Bonked with the Bonk Comedy Game Show

Now THIS was something new for us here at the BONK show. Picture a large outdoor event with 30,000+ people all gathered to win prizes (I'm talking cars, boats, trips, huge cash prizes...), to donate money to a great cause which supports outdoor sporting, see some great bands and have a great time. Enter...the Bonk Comedy Game Show.

First, I figured I better lose the 'flashy' red jacket and go a bit more "outdoorsy" which I did. We then felt the need to customize not only the questions for the comedy game show to reflect hunting, fishing and outdoor television show characters but also the entire scoreboard (Nice camo pattern with antlers in the corners) and even the helmets.

What followed was a Comedy Game Show like no other. With that many people screaming and laughing the show was electric. Throughout the day we played three different rounds. The contestants were mixed with people from the audience along with some TV celebs from the outdoor channel series. It was certainly a new twist on the BONK show that has been asked back again to the 8th annual Deerassic Classic.

Bentonville GETS BONKED! Great Walmart Event!

TOOOO much fun in Bentonville Arkansas today. We had 350 regional operational team members from Walmart that we needed to engage, get laughing and teach about the capabilities of the JVC Everio HD camcorders. (You should check them out - they are AWESOME).

We had a different format and we kept track of the highest scores of throughout the day. Several people coming back more than once to try and beat the system and beat-up on some of their co-workers.

I even got to play with Austin Powers and Danica Patrick....really.

The BONK Show makes huge impact for JVC at the annual PMA show in Las Vegas March 3rd - 5th.

LuLu the BONK Babe...who is she really in the Bonk Game Show?

Well, truth be told, there are multiple. We have just selected and trained an additional LuLu the fabulous comedy relief co-host and BONK BABE to coincide with the addition of another host. Please welcome Tammy Walkup who is based in Columbus, Ohio. Tammy has been a professional entertainer and vocalist for over 20 years. Her debut performance was for a great corporate event for one of the top scientific and chemical development companies in the world (Yup...we threw her right into the fire) and she knocked 'em dead.

I am sure you will see her appearing in more photos and videos soon to be posted. Therefore, we now have Merry based in Los Angeles, Penny in Las Vegas and Tammy now serving the East Coast region. All to continue to serve you the event planner, entertainment agent or company planner more efficiently and will less travel time and costs.

No, the Low county hasn’t opened its first brothel. “Bonk” is the name of a comedy game show that is staged at comedy clubs around the country.

It stops this week at the Hilton Head Comedy Club. Take some time out from the rat race of the last-minute Christmas gift herd and you might just get the chance to take out some of your aggressions by hitting others with a mallet for laughs.

A lot of Vegas and cruise ship shows try the game show format for laughs, getting audience members to hold buzzers and answer silly questions for prizes. What makes “Bonk” different is that audience members actually get to hit their fellow contestants with mallets.

The producers of the show liken the experience to “Jeopardy” meets “The Three Stooges.” Contestants are given “bonkers” and hard hats. If they think they know an answer, they hit themselves over the head with the bonker, triggering a ring-in buzzer.

Then the game moves on to something called back bonking, where contestants must hit each other over the head to pass on a question and make the other answer.

The winner of the back bonk round then plays the Big Bonk Challenge, where they can win cash and prizes, including restaurant gift certificates and bar tabs from the club. All throughout, players answer questions as silly as “Can a pig get sunburned?” to more traditional trivia. Plus, they’re asked to complete challenges that can be a bit more embarrassing — and therefore hilarious for the crowd.

The game is played three times, with nine contestants picked from the audience to play. Plus, the less daring ticket holders can win prizes in between-round trivia contests.

The game was created by comedian and magician Kerry Pollack, a road-tested performer who developed it to play at trade shows. But he quickly realized that “Bonk” was a perfect event for comedy clubs, too. “Bonk” plays at the Hilton Head Comedy Club at 8 p.m. today and Saturday.

BONK hits Bermuda....aaahh

There are far worse locations to be hosting the bonk show as a corporate game show the in the country of Bermuda. Being my first time there, we were excited to see the island and all it had to offer.

Not only did we have a blast working for the client, we've been asked back next year. YEAH!! It is likely we will play a few venues based on the response from last year. From the downtown comedy club, The Fairmont hotel and a private event.

Here's a pic of us working hard....

On top of that I made a few dives on old shipwrecks, tasted some wild foods (absolutely fabulous...yet pricey restaurants). Looking forward to it again the 3rd week in Sept 2009.

The "Buckeye BONK" show is huge success

The corporate comedy game show - "The BONK Show" - took on a new look for this special event. The standard yellow helmets were traded in for "Buckeye BONK" helmets complete with buckeye leaves, OSU logos and our host sponsor of NetJets.

It was the Ohio State Penn State game which was a tremendous match-up with the winner likely being the big ten champ and a shot at the Rose Bowl. The place was packed inside the NetJets sponsored tent right next to the Sports Illustrated tent, complete with Jumbotron outside broadcasting the show to everyone tailgating ahead of time.

The Bonk Show event host and corporate entertainer Jon Petz had the crowd screaming as he not only awarded the onstage contestants prizes but also had a dozen tickets for the game to give away, along with concert tickets, gift cards and the grand prize winner of The BONK Show took home two round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the US. Not bad for bonking yourself in the head a few times.

We were joined by the wild Danny Beirne on the keys who was jamming out Hang On Sloopy each time tickets were won, not to mention all the other live music for the show and tunes for the thousands of buckeye fans listening and watching in for the chance at winning some of the game tickets. All planned by the premier event planning team at Destinations By Design and technical production team from John Page and Page Tecg LTD.

As I was away last week and still am, on a much-needed vacation, my column somehow got lot lost in cyber space. But as it still holds up this week, I am trying it again. Hopefully you will be able to read every word in another Pulitzer prize-winning column. OK, so maybe I haven't won one yet, but maybe if I keep begging, they're relent.

Okay, on to more interesting things, which means I won't be talking about Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, her skinny, pregnant girlfriend, whatever her name is, or Britney Spears, so you can all breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Feel like getting hit over the head, but all in good fun? Then BONK might be just what you're looking for. All this week, through Friday, Hooters is featuring a new game show called BONK in the Night Owl Showroom at 3 p.m. each day. And just to make things interesting, there is a beautiful BONK Babe involved. Here's how it works.

It begins with three contestants randomly chosen (which means it might be you) wearing helmets and holding soft foam mallets. The helmets are equipped with sensors that ring when the helmet is hit. In order to "bonk in" and answer a question, one must hit him or her on the head with the mallet.

The first round is strictly self-inflicted bonking, so it helps if you're a bit of a masochist. Contestants score points for a correct answer, lose points for an incorrect answer. The questions are relatively simple so speed does matter. When a contestant reaches 10 points, the round ends and the low scorer is eliminated. The remaining two contestants face off in the "Back BONK" round. The questions in this round get tougher and opponents may not only bonk themselves, but may bonk their opponent. Points are scored if your opponent is incorrect when they have been "back bonked."

The winner of the "back BONK" round is a finalist and is given the opportunity to win a prize by taking the "BONK Challenge." There, you are asked to name 10 items from a given category (i.e. casino games, cartoon characters, pizza toppings, etc.) within 30 seconds while being bashed on the head by the BONK Babe.

This process is repeated three times producing three BONK winners. At the end of the third game, the three winners then compete in a single round finale known as the "BONK Bash." This is a free for all where all three contestants may hit themselves or any of the others in a race to 10 points to determine the champion. The champion is then crowned with the mirrored BONK disco helmet and winner of the grand prize. Prizes may include an overnight stay at Hooters Casino Hotel, dinner at one of the properties restaurants and lots more, so I'm told. Prizes don't seem to be that big a deal but seeing that tickets to the game are only $14.95, whaddaya expect? Sounds like a lot of fun and a nice break from losing money in the casino.

The show combines an innovative mix of stand up comedy delivered in a game show format, complete with hilarious prizes, props and a professional comedy host.
